Frequently Asked Questions
“Self care is not a luxury, it’s a necessity”
FAQs
What is your program?
Weight loss is what we do—it’s our specialty. Our approach is medical, but also personal. We look at the full picture: metabolism, lifestyle, cravings, stress, hormones, and habits. You’ll get a plan that’s realistic, flexible, and supported every step of the way.
This isn’t a “see you once a month” kind of place. You’ll have weekly support, a medical provider who truly listens, and a whole team cheering you on.
What kind of diet do you follow?
We use our signature Merit Method—focused on high-protein, high-fiber meals that keep you full, energized, and burning fat. You’ll receive access to our Merit Method Guidebook to get you started on Day 1.
We’ll meet you where you’re at and help you make changes that fit your real life. No extreme plans or rigid rules—just effective strategies that work.
What kind of support will I get?
Appointments with a medical provider every 4 weeks
Optional weekly check-ins (no appointment needed!)
Motivation, adjustments, and support anytime you need it
The 48-page Merit Method Guidebook
Weekly newsletters with recipes, meal ideas, and tips
Access to our private Facebook group for added support
Optional add-ons like weight loss injections, vitamin injections and medical-grade supplements (not required)
If you ever hit a plateau, we’re already working on Plan B. We don’t leave you stuck—we pivot, adjust, and keep moving forward together.
Do you take HSA/FSA cards?
Yes! We accept HSA/FSA for memberships, medications, injections, and hormones. You may need a letter of medical necessity—just ask and we’ll help.
What is the price?
Initial Consultation: $249 (includes first month, 1:1 visit, check-ins, newsletter, and more)
Monthly Membership: $199/month
No contracts, no cancellation fees.
Medications, injections, supplements, and hormone therapy are additional and tailored to your needs.
If you’re unsure, we get it. Many of our clients felt the same—until they saw the results and realized it was unlike anything they’d tried before. We always suggest trying it for a month to see how you feel!
What happens at the first visit?
You’ll meet with a medical provider for about an hour. We’ll review your history, goals, and do a body composition analysis (think: muscle, fat, and metabolism). You’ll leave with a custom plan, your resources, and a clear next step.
Do you work with insurance?
We don’t bill insurance directly. It limits how we can care for you. However, we do send prescriptions to your pharmacy, and they’ll work with your insurance for medication coverage.
What prescriptions are available?
Our providers are experts in weight loss medications and hormones:
Oral appetite suppressants (like phentermine)
Craving and stress-eating support (like Wellbutrin or naltrexone)
Binge-eating support (like Vyvanse)
GLP-1 injections
Hormones (testosterone, estrogen, progesterone)
Vitamin injections (Vitamin B12, Lipo-C Shot ‘Skinny shot’, Tri-Immune Boost, NAD+)
If your insurance doesn’t cover it, we offer many affordable in-office options too.
I’m nervous about medication side effects - what should I know?
You should feel good on your medication. If you’re not, we’ll fix it. You should not feel miserable during your treatment with Merit.
Some side effects like nausea or constipation can happen—usually due to the food you’re eating or the dosage. That’s why we start low and adjust slowly. And if it’s not a fit, we have other tools.
Can I do telehealth?
Absolutely. We recommend your first visit in-person to get to know your provider, complete your body composition analysis, and access resources. After that, monthly visits can be done via telehealth. Pop in now and then for an in-office body comp—we’ll remind you!
How long will I need to be on the program?
Most of our clients stay with us for 6–12 months. Our goal is to help you reach your goal and then maintain it. Some clients stay longer, some graduate into maintenance, and some return as needed. We’ll build a plan that makes sense for you.
What happens when I reach my goal?
We don’t disappear after the weight comes off. In fact, that’s when we double down on support. You’ll have access to our Maintenance Program—because if you can’t keep it off, what’s the point? That’s where we shine.
Will I need to be on medication forever?
Not at all. We use medication as a tool, not a crutch. Many clients taper off when they’re ready, others use a lower dose to maintain their weight—and some decide to stay on long-term because they feel their best. Either way, it’s a decision made between you and your provider, based on your goals and lifestyle.
